What makes your restaurant special? The food, the ambiance and your service. Sure, but that’s only after you’ve gotten your customers through the door, well seated and ready to order! So what can get food lovers to actually open the door and give your cuisine a try? A great restaurant logo designed to stimulate an appetite and lure customers into your food lair.
A terrific restaurant logo ensures that you captivate your target audience while standing out amongst your competitors. Ever seen how market leaders such as Burger King, McDonalds and KFC all have completely distinct logos with different color themes? Similar logos within the same category tend to confuse customers and fail to thus build brand loyalty and trust. It’s not enough to serve good food, logos play an important part in calling customers towards the tables.
But enough of the branding details, let’s talk logo design!
What’s Your Restaurant’s Personality?
You need to know what sets you apart when you’re thinking about your restaurant logo. Designing without a vision is just an artwork without a message. You need to be creative but consider factors such as the cuisine, ambiance, your target customers etc.

In a nutshell, you can add that spark of creative thought into your restaurant logo design but your logo should reflect the persona that you want to create for your business.
Creative Restaurant Logo Designs
1. Fast-Food Logos
We’ve all possibly had the pleasure of having the high and mighty Burger King as part of our ‘cheat day’. Kudos to those who don’t need cheat days and can enjoy fast food whenever their stomach calls for it. Coming back to the logo which was revamped in 1999 by creative agency Jones Knowles Ritchie, the restaurant logo design represents Burger King’s vision: mouthwatering, big and bold! Even the revamped logo design is just a simpler version of the previous one. Have a look at how Burger King has depicted its ‘big in size and bigger on taste’ image through its logo:
2. Bar Logos
When you’re inviting the hip n happening crowd, your logo needs to attract your target diners. When you’ve inaugurated a bar restaurant, logo designing becomes tricky yet more useful in communication. You don’t want to look too shady yet you’ve got to convey just the right atmosphere to attract the right customers.
Is your bar focused on dining-in with a vintage look and all kinds of wines or is it more of an outdoor set-up, focusing more on entertainment rather than class? You need to communicate the mood of your restaurant through your logo.
3. Fine-Dining Logos
If you want the cream to enter your restaurant (and by that I mean the top class), your restaurant logo will simply have to be elegant enough to welcome them. Creativity has little scope in a classy, sophisticated logo but that doesn’t mean you can’t be the cliché breaker.
A classic example to take inspiration from is the famous Chinese cuisine restaurant, Hot Pot where the logo depicts a very subtly creative design.
Another personal favorite is this coffee house logo. So simple yet we can see the creative thought brewing.
I’m sure these tempting logos have stimulated your appetite for a creative restaurant logo design, haven’t they?
